Built by a family that has been through all of this
Our oldest was in a traditional school. One day we decided to pull him out and homeschool. We had no idea what we were getting into.
The first curriculum was too rigid. The second, too loose. The third finally clicked — but by then we had lost months, spent money on materials we never used, and lived with a question that kept us up at night: did all this switching leave gaps?
Because here is what nobody tells you about homeschooling. It is not just teaching. It is carrying everything at once. The fear of messing up your kids. The exhaustion of being mom, dad, and teacher all at the same time. The guilt on bad days — when you lose your patience and wonder if school would have been easier. The impostor syndrome when someone asks "but how do you know they are learning?"
We have lived all of that. The transition from school to home. The switching between curricula. The late-night Google searches for "is my kid behind?" The comparisons with cousins in school. The loneliness of a decision that very few people around you understand.
What we needed and could not find
We just wanted an honest answer. Not a new curriculum, not an expensive tutor. Just: where are my kids? What do they need to work on? What are they doing well? Subject by subject, no judgment. We could not find anything like that — not in Spanish, not affordable, not designed for families like ours in Latin America.
